"CopperGarden®" Copper Kettle 5 liters with Lid | Tinned

This wonderfully rustic copper kettle has been hand-forged with great love for you, and the interior has been tinned with 100% pure food-safe and non-stick tin. Thanks to the coating, this kettle is even approved for cooking in the gastronomy sector and can be safely used for preparing all kinds of dishes, as well as mulled wine or Feuerzangenbowle. Thanks to the easily renewable hand tinning, the kettle is also perfectly suitable for preparing acidic foods and beverages.

The upper rim of the kettle has been reinforced with blackened iron and a handle, so you can easily lift it and hang it over any fire. In this fine set, we also include the lid, which is also hand-tinned. You will love it!

Surprise your guests with something extraordinary and cook in genuine copper. Prepare delicious dishes in a traditional copper kettle instead of grilling. You can use the kettle on a grill, directly in the embers, or on a gas flame. However, a copper kettle should never be used empty over a fire, as this could lead to material fatigue. As soon as you add some oil or water and fry, cook, brew, or boil, the kettle will bring you much joy and excellent service and can stay in your family for generations.

Cooking in a copper kettle is definitely a lot of fun. Give it a try!

How to cook properly in a Copper Pot?

Our tip for a healthy life, everlasting durable copper pots, and kitchen fun: use only good oils and add a little bit of it to your pan right from the beginning. A copper pot should not be heated empty.

Important to know: At 232u00b0C, the tin coating may melt. At 250u00b0C, the copper may warp.

A normal stove burner can become 400u00b0C hot, a glass-ceramic cooktop 600u00b0C, and a gas flame or fire even over 1,000u00b0C!

No worries! When cooking, frying, and baking normally, you will never reach these temperatures.

Pay attention to the smoke point. It's simple: if your oil smokes, it's too hot! You'll be harming your health long before your copper kettle suffers. Frying and deep-frying become unhealthy at 175u00b0C! Acrylamide forms. Even high heat oils burn at temperatures over 200u00b0C. There is only one exception: certain highly refined oils can withstand temperatures above 230u00b0C.

Important: Add your food to the pot before the oil burns! Your health and kitchen equipment will thank you for it.

Another tip: You don't need a thermometer for frying. Use a wooden cooking spoon and dip the end into the hot oil. If fine bubbles come out of the spoon handle, the oil is hot enough for frying. If it starts to smoke, it's too hot.

What if it happens anyway! If you accidentally heat your copper pot above 232u00b0C, the tin may melt. It is 100% safe for your health even if it ends up in the food. Your body will simply excrete it. If necessary, the pot can be re-tinned.

If you expose your copper pot to temperatures above 250u00b0C, it may warp. Actually, this doesn't really matter, but when cooking on an electric stove, the warped base may lead to heat loss.

One more thing: Copper transfers heat very quickly. Even to the handle! Please use a pot holder or cloth when handling the pot.

This copper pot is a highly valuable cooking utensil. With some love, this wonderful copper kettle will bring you joy quickly and accompany you for a lifetime. Copper is a living metal and will change color with use. You can polish away these traces of life, but we recommend not doing so and allowing the pot to age with dignity. The tin coating may become dull through use, and the original silver shine may transition to a matte gray. If you wish, you can re-tin it at any time. This will cost around 30 euros for a pot of this size, but it is not necessary as long as the coating is not heavily worn and scratched.
