"CopperGarden®" ø14 cm Casserole with Lid | Hand-Tinned

You will surely come to love this valuable saucepan quickly. Please note the high-quality hand-hammered finish made from pure copper. Unlike most other saucepans, this elegant casserole from the "CopperGarden®" manufactory comes with a copper lid and a brass handle. The interior has been generously hand-tinned, ensuring that this pot will bring you joy for decades. You can prepare perfect sauces, small stews, and many other delicious dishes with it. This pot can do it all: it’s great for searing, stirring, and transferring as well as for long cooking and gentle steaming. It can even go in the oven, for example, if you want to bake a soup or a small casserole with egg or cheese.

Thanks to the long handle made of "golden" brass, this casserole can be quickly and safely removed from the stove or moved over the flame. We recommend using a pot holder, as the excellent heat conduction of the materials used can make the handle hot quickly.

The pot is also very beautiful. We hope you can appreciate its high value from the pictures. Feel free to place it directly on the table for serving, as presentation matters. With copper, all dishes not only cook more easily but also look better.

Important to Know: We offer this casserole with the best possible features, including a brass handle and grip. Brass has many advantages over the commonly used iron; it is rust-free and easy to care for, but it transfers heat faster and thus gets hot more quickly. The pot itself is made from reinforced hand-hammered copper and is lined with a low-maintenance coating of 100% pure tin on the inside. Tin, in combination with oil, offers excellent non-stick properties and is suitable for all foods. The pot is suitable for all types of stoves (except induction!) as well as all cooking methods. You can even use the pot over an open flame or in embers or commercially in the foodservice industry. This pot is guaranteed to be a highly sustainable investment of the best quality, one that you will enjoy for a lifetime.

With a core or coating of aluminum or steel, this advantage is lost. Tinning is 100% safe as the body simply ejects tin. Nonetheless, the thermal conductivity remains. If the tinning eventually becomes unattractive and scratched, it can be re-tinned. This ensures the casserole can be used for a lifetime.

Healthy Cooking in a Copper Pot

Our tip for a healthy living, long-lasting copper pots, and fun in the kitchen: use only good oils and add some to your pan right at the beginning. A copper pot should not be heated empty.

Important to know: At 232 degrees Celsius, the tin coating could melt. At 250 degrees Celsius, the copper may begin to warp.

A normal stovetop can get as hot as 400u00b0C, a glass-ceramic hob up to 600u00b0C, and a gas flame or fire can exceed 1,000u00b0C!

Don't worry! During normal cooking, frying, and baking, you will never reach these temperatures.

Watch out for the smoke point. Itu2019s simple: if the oil smokes, itu2019s too hot! You harm your health long before a copper pot suffers.

At 175u00b0C, frying becomes unhealthy! Acrylin forms. Even high-heat oils burn at a maximum of 200u00b0C. There is only one exception: artificially highly refined sunflower oils can reach extreme temperatures over 230 degrees Celsius.

Add your food before the oil burns! Your health will thank you, and so will your pan!

Another tip: You don't need a thermometer for frying. Use a wooden cooking spoon and hold the end in the hot oil. If fine air bubbles rise from the spoon handle, the oil is hot enough for frying. If it starts to smoke, it is far too hot.

What if it does happen! If you accidentally heat your copper pot above 232u00b0C, the tin might melt. It is 100% safe for your health even if it ends up in your food. Your body will simply eliminate it. If necessary, the pot can be re-tinned.

If you expose your copper pot to temperatures above 250 degrees Celsius, it could warp. Not really an issue, but when cooking on an electric stovetop, a warped bottom could cause transfer losses.

Another important note: Copper conducts all temperatures very quickly, including to the handle! Please use a pot holder or a cloth when handling the pot.

This copper pot is a high-quality cooking tool. With a little care, this wonderful copper kettle will quickly bring you a lot of joy and accompany you for a lifetime.

Copper is a living metal and will change color with use. You can polish these signs of life away, but we recommend letting the pot age gracefully.

Tin can dull with use. The original silver shine will turn into a matte gray. You can re-tin the pot at any time if you wish. This will cost around 30 euros for a pot of this size but is not necessary as long as the coating is not severely worn or scratched.
