CopperGarden® Still Column Still 0.5 Liter
The "ESSENCE" column still in the 0.5 liter version offered here is a true masterpiece from the CopperGarden forge! It is registration-free, extremely versatile, and perfectly suited for producing small quantities of fresh hydrolates at home. You can distill both with and without the column, allowing you to create floral hydrolates such as rose water directly from the boiler or distill aromatic compounds with the aromatherapy column through the rising steam. With highly oil-rich plants like lavender, rosemary, or cloves, you can even produce small amounts of essential oils.
This long-proven mini still is undoubtedly one of the most versatile 0.5 liter units of all time and the only one in this size capable of producing essential oils. Just like the larger column stills, you can remove the column and use the still to distill aromatic spirits such as whiskey, brandy, or various fruit spirits. In Austria, you are legally allowed to distill gin and various spirits using alcohol; in Germany and Switzerland, it is advisable to adhere to local laws.
Thanks to the column, this still offers even more possibilities. Simply fill the boiler with alcohol and the column with your choice of spices. This way, you can create delicious gin from juniper, ouzo from anise, caraway, gentian, raspberry spirit—or something completely different. Why not try a lavender spirit or a garlic schnapps? <h2>Stills with up to 2 Liters Boiler Capacity are Registration-Free!</h2> <p>Thanks to the new German Alcohol Tax Law (since January 1, 2018), we are allowed to sell this still freely and without any bureaucracy to you and ship it to all EU countries as well as most other countries on our planet.</p> <p><strong>Important to know:</strong> We must point out that distilling alcohol is not permitted in Germany and Switzerland. The still can be used registration-free for the distillation of water, hydrolates, flavors, natural remedies, cosmetics, essential oils, non-alcoholic beverages, etc. If you wish to distill alcohol legally in Germany or Switzerland, you will need a commercial distilling license.</p> <p>In Austria, you may also use this still for flavoring and spirit distillation of purchased (taxed) alcohol with various flavor carriers, legally distilling gin, for example. Distilling alcohol from your own mash is also prohibited in Austria.</p> <p>Please observe the laws in your home country. If you distill spirits at home with this still, you would be considered an "illegal distiller" and could be prosecuted for tax evasion for the amount of unpaid spirits tax. Additionally, the still could be confiscated. We would then be happy to sell you a new one.</p> <p>Thanks to EU internal trade laws, we can ship this still without registration as a simple package with GLD or DHL to all countries in the European Union. When shipping to countries outside the EU, we must attach an invoice to the outside of the package for customs reasons, so that customs in your home country can properly charge its taxes and fees.
