The sickle features a hammered interior, is slightly sharpened, and is perfect for harvesting your favorite herbs and other plants in the garden as well as in the wild. What you should know: Harvesting with copper keeps herbs fresher for longer. Copper ions have antibacterial properties and prevent the entry of decay bacteria or spores into open cuts through the tool. You will love it. Copper gardening tools are lighter than comparable iron tools, making them easier to handle. The edges stay sharp for a long time and can be easily sharpened again by simply hammering. Additionally, copper has the lowest friction resistance of all suitable materials, allowing copper tools to penetrate soil and plant materials more easily and quickly. Like all noble metals, copper is a ductile material, meaning it does not tear or break. Deformations can be easily hammered back into shape. Since copper does not rust, no special care is required; however, we recommend occasionally oiling the handle.
Note on the material: The copper alloy used for the OJ garden tools contains up to 6% tin and is additionally cold-hammered to achieve the required hardness. Pure copper with a small addition of pure tin results in the harder bronze used here, which is suitable for gardening tools. Over time, the metal parts will initially turn reddish, or copper-colored, and later gradually develop a dark brown patina. You will love it.
